PARQUE PEREQUÊ – SERRA DO MAR
Within the Serra do Mar State Park, located in São Paulo, there is a well-known trail in the municipality of Cubatão. It’s the trail to the “Véu da Noiva” waterfall, in the Perequê ecological park, that’s right, one park within another.
Access to the Park is via a road at km 4 of the Cônego Domânico Rangoni Highway, heading towards Guarujá.
Entry to the park is authorized only with an accredited monitor, a few years ago it was possible to do the trail alone, access was free, but there was not much security, especially for people who were not familiar with this type of activity. The park now has a wooden structure, with stairs and handrails for greater comfort and safety for the visitor, however, care must be taken as there is a river crossing, and the rocks are extremely smooth and slippery, making the crossing relatively dangerous.
The trail takes an average of 1:30h, and at the end of it is a spectacular view of the waterfall “Véu da Noiva”, one of the largest in the region, it is approximately 80 meters high, and a strong flow of water, a small demonstration of the strength of the nature and its beauty.
Next to the waterfall there is a place suitable for bathing, the so-called “poção”, a natural pool with small waterfalls and rocks on the sides, making the place even more beautiful.
For those from São Paulo or the metropolitan regions, it is worth visiting, as it is only 75 km away from the capital of São Paulo.
